The Mystic Hotel: A Modern Boho-Chic Retreat in Santa Fe

Hi Lovelies,

This past weekend, Sara, our dog Mocha, and I had the pleasure of staying at The Mystic Hotel in Santa Fe, and it was a truly enchanting experience. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this hotel is more than just a place to stay—it’s a vibrant tribute to the city’s history and charm.

Honoring the Past with a Modern Twist

The Mystic Hotel carries forward the legacy of the Silver Saddle Motel, a historic motor lodge that graced Route 66 from 1948 to 2023 with its Western charm. Today, The Mystic seamlessly blends this rich history with a boho-chic modern elegance.

The hotel retains the original room layout and has expanded to feature a stylish café, bar, and two lounges. A standout feature is the High Desert Hideaway, a transformed backyard space ideal for events. The Mystic thoughtfully preserves elements of the Silver Saddle while ushering in a new era of boho-chic style and comfort.

High Desert: A Culinary and Social Hub

High Desert is The Mystic’s bar and café, and it’s a fantastic spot for any time of day. Start your morning with a great breakfast, and come back for delightful light bites, amazing salads, delicious pizzas, paninis, and luxurious charcuterie boards. The café also boasts a full coffee and cocktail bar, serving up craft concoctions that cater to every spirit lover.

One of the highlights of High Desert is its vibrant social scene. Enjoy live DJ queer nights and local bands performing in the courtyard. It’s a lively spot that adds a touch of excitement to your stay. Be sure to check out their calendar for details on upcoming events and happenings.

A Picturesque Setting and Secure Comfort

The Mystic Hotel’s design seamlessly blends the past with the present. Its location is perfect for exploring Santa Fe, offering a fully gated environment that includes secure parking—making us feel safe and relaxed from the start. The rooms are modern and stylish, with a bed so comfortable and pillows so luxurious that I’m still trying to figure out their brand!

A Beautiful Retreat for Mocha (Dog-Friendly)

Mocha enjoyed the hotel’s meticulously maintained grounds, especially the lush back courtyard. The secure, gated area allowed her to explore, play, and relax freely while we took in the serene surroundings. It was fantastic to have such a dog-friendly space, complete with convenient amenities like poop bags and water bowls.

Culinary Delights

A highlight of our stay was the complimentary breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant. As a Santa Fe native, I was thrilled to find the breakfast tacos and waffles perfectly satisfying my cravings. For dinner, Sara and I indulged in nachos and a cheese board that were both delicious and fulfilling.

Exceptional Service

The customer service at The Mystic was exceptional throughout our stay. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel like we were the most important guests in the hotel.

A Vision Realized

Amanda Tucker and Rick Goldberg, a husband-and-wife team with a passion for Santa Fe, envisioned The Mystic as a stylish, vibrant retreat combining historical charm with contemporary comfort. As avid travelers, they are committed to delivering exceptional hospitality and service.

The Mystic Hotel and Restaurant perfectly blends historical reverence with modern luxury. Featuring the chic High Desert café and bar, a lively social scene, and top-notch amenities, it’s a magical spot to experience Santa Fe’s rich legacy. Whether with a furry friend or seeking relaxation, The Mystic is a destination we’ll definitely revisit.
