This weeks color palette was black, white and grey. My inspirations for this one were two recent purchases: my platform espadrilles and a wood clutch. If you follow me on any social media you’ll notice that the wood clutch has been by my side more often then not lately. I know since we’re midsummer everyone’s thought is floral print or bright colors, but I wanted to switch things up and challenge myself to only wear black-and-white and some grey for a full week.
Today I am getting ready for a date and I wanted to give you some tips. Even though I’ve been with my fiancé for five years now I still love our flirtatious ways and date nights. I like when dressed up I can be appropriate for work and play.
The dress I styled is black with a little bit of lace. The length of the dress is mid-length and the V neck is a little higher then I normally wear but that’s ok bc there’s this surprise in the back! I have worn this black dress numerous times and got plenty of compliments. What’s perfect is it’s an appropriate length for work and I can throw on a cute little Jean jacket to cover the back. However I do get a lot of questions of how to wear black in the summer?
Fashion tip: to wearing black pick light cottons, silks and satin. Off the shoulder dresses or shirts are great. Of course dresses and shirts pair well with whites, creams or even light blues.
This look is bold so I paired it with chunky white black pumps. Can I just say these are top on my list of purchases from Zara.. .and they are real leather. These pumps fit me like a glove and are about 8+ hours of wearable comfort! Since I am going on a date I wanted to have red hot lips to complement the black and white look. Of course I brought my new obsession wood clutch to hold my necessities for the evening.
So much more I could go on about with this color pallet, but I have a hot date and can’t be cute that late…well just fashionably late haha

Alyssa
