Hi lovelies,

As the temps continue to get cooler and cooler I get closer and closer to my glory! If I could bottle up this weather and keep it around for the next six months I would. The temperature isn’t the only thing dropping, so are the leaves! Glorious hues of orange, yellow and red just dancing their way to the ground. I love wearing nude or tan shoes during this time because it makes the leafs pop that much more!
Halloween is around the corner, the famous pumpkin spice lattes are upon us, and the crisp cool air with the sweet fire burning scent! All of these things inspired me to style Orange today. Yes, orange is not the easiest color to wear as the hue can be a bit bright and overpowering, but if done right it can be cute! Now don’t  go and over do it with the orange because you’ll end up looking like a traffic cone and we don’t want that! Let’s take a look on how the beautiful hue of orange can be.

Since this weeks color palette was orange I wanted to share a website I use for inspiration on how to wear a certain color. www.colourlovers.com It’s a great website to create your own color combinations and gain some inspiration. First piece of advice would be to pick a color and pull all of the pieces in your wardrobe including shoes and accessories. Then start making outfits with the items you have chosen. You don’t even have to buy a garment in this color. Just adding a scarf or a bag will already give you that orange flavor and will add some flair to your outfit.

Here are four quick tips to inspire your styling with the punchy hue.

1.    Pair orange with neutrals: Neutrals are easy. It allows the orange to pop and not compete with other colors.  It’s very clean and refined.

2.    Go with Prints- combining bold orange hues with prints is visually interesting and effortless.

3.    Embrace Orange with Purple- Visually appealing, the two dynamic hues create a bold and chic look when paired together.

4.    Accessorize with orange-  if you’re just not ready for a punch of color, try a fun accessory like sunglasses or a purse.

Let’s take one color combination to the test. I am wearing a beautiful bright maxi orange pleated skirt with a gray cotton crop top. My tan hues are a fux leather bow belt and suede pointy flat loafers. Of course my jean jacket was a perfect match to this combo. I paired some turquoise pieces to have a little pop and contrast the orange.

I know orange maybe a little bold, but the color is everywhere right now, it’s the season color. Try the website I gave you and see if you can make a color combo you like and will work with your current wardrobe. I hope you’re enjoying all things that come with Fall. I have 13 days until New York! I am starting to prep for my packing, stay tuned to my Instagram and snap chats to get previews of my vacation wardrobe. See you next Thursday.

Lots of love XO,

Alyssa
